Ed is the head of our team and has over 25 years' experience in private client work, specialising in wills, probate and estate planning. Ed has worked in this area of law since the start of his training and also has extensive experience of property related matters
He qualified as a solicitor in 1994 after graduating from Aberystwyth University and undertaking the Law Society finals course at the Chester Law School. He completed his training contract at Armitage, Sykes & Hinchliffe in Huddersfield and has worked at different firms in Yorkshire and the North West before moving on to join our firm in 2017 as Head of the Private Client Department.
Ed has also completed the Society of Trust and Estates (STEP) Diploma course and was admitted as a full member of STEP in April 2015, gaining the status of a Trust and Estate Practitioner or T.E.P.
STEP is a global professional association for practitioners who specialise in Private Client work. It works to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promote education and high professional standards among its members.
