David Lee

David Lee is Finn Gledhill’s Senior Partner and is also Head of the firm’s Residential Conveyancing Department. As well as handling the buying and selling of houses David deals with landlord and tenant issues, building developments and commercial properties.

David joined the firm straight from local grammar school in 1965 in the days when a University Degree was not obligatory. He did his training the hard way, spending five years as an Articled Clerk to the late Hugh Finn before being admitted as a solicitor in 1971. An offer of a partnership soon followed and over the years David has seen the firm grow to its present position in size and status.

He is married to Barbara, who looks after much of the firm’s day to day administration. He has three children, all grown up, and is an active Freemason. For more strenuous activity he goes offshore sailing and has skippered his boat in many yacht races including the famous Fastnet Race on three occasions. David divides his time between our Hebden Bridge and Halifax offices and is also a Notary Public, one of the few in the area.
