Financial Advice FAQs

Q. What kind of Financial Advice can I choose from?

A. Since 2005 there have been four main classes of adviser:

  • Tied advisers - working for one financial institution
  • Multi-tied advisers - paid by more than one financial institution
  • Whole of market advisers - paid by any financial institution only on a commission basis
  • Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) - paid by the client by a fee or any financial institution on a commission basis.

Q. Which kind of adviser are you?

A. We are Independent Financial Advisers, so can choose from the whole market. The Law Society will not allow law firms to offer any other kind of advice.
